Hi! My name is Sofia and I work in the infant room. I am from El Salvador and moved to the states in 1993. My husband, Juan and I were married in 1989 and we have three children; Mohamed, Esmeralda, and Dario. In my homeland I was a nurse and have always enjoyed taking care of people of all ages. My family and I enjoy traveling, and most of all, the seaside with beaches. I consider myself privileged to be working at Blue Lake Preschool!
Hi, my name is Darla Albers. My fiance and I have two children, Joaquin and Chloe, Joaquin, and am expecting another in September. We moved here from Lincoln, NE in April of 2006. I have an Associates Degree in Early Childhood Education and have been working with children since 2002. I enjoy swimming, playing volleyball, watching football, and have currently enjoyed hiking. My name is Krysta Grigsby and I started working at Blue Lake Preschool in November of 2008 and am really enjoying it! I grew up I Glenwood Springs and moved to Carbondale in December of 2008. I have been working in a preschool setting for about 5 years and found this the profession that I want to be in.

Hello! My name is Leia Sober. I started working at Blue Lake Preschool in April of 2005. I love being an early childhood educator, and continue to further my education in the field. As you can see I have a very busy family and a crazy lifestyle! I have three kids, Emily, Enya, and Eli; two cats: Ginger (pictured) and Jinx (too camera shy); Two dogs Roxy (black Lab) and Ruffy (schnauzer). I love animals just as much as I love kids! Hi! My name is Lindsie Schaffner and I am currently working in the infant room at Blue Lake Preschool and I love it! I got married in July 2008 and my husband and I moved into a house in New Castle. My husband and I grew up in Glenwood and both of my parents taught in the Elementary School. I have grown up wanting to teach and work with children. I went to college for my Elementary Teaching license and I minored in Reading because I feel that it is a very important skill for every child to learn. I think that the Toddler room is the best room in our school! The kids are great and it has been very fun to watch them all grow! Thank you for allowing me to work with your children.
Hi! My name is Yackeline Taylor. I am from Chihuahua, Mexico. I have been teaching since 2005 and lived in the valley since 2002. I’m currently taking classes to get my ECE degree. In my free time I like to be with my boyfriend Andres and with my two children Joana and Andres. We have been living here in the valley for 6 years. I look forward to getting to know all of you!
Hi! My name is Linsey Short. I grew up in the valley and attended Glenwood Springs Elementary, Middle, and High School. I went to the University of Northern Colorado and received my Elementary Education Degree. I taught 3rd grade for two years at Basalt Elementary School. I am happily married to Alan and we had a little girl, Reese Taylor Short, on August 14, 2008. I am currently working on my Master’s Degree in ESOL (English with Speakers of Other Languages) and will graduate this summer. Thank you for letting me work with your child!
Hello! My name is Chelsea and I was born and raised in Denver, Colorado… I’m a lifer! I moved to the valley over a year ago to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city life. I live in Carbondale with my husband Travis and our puppy Modoc. I’ve been teaching at Blue Lake since February 2007. I’m taking Early Childhood Education classes and I’ve been working with children for the better part of six years. I love the opportunity to teach children and I enjoy working with them very much.
